WSPA's disaster relief team has been in the Minas Gerais state of Brazil to help animals affected by the flooding and landslides there. Following their assessment, the WSPA team reported that close to 3,000 cats and dogs are in need of our help. Over the coming weeks, we will be delivering emergency feed and basic veterinary care to these animals.

One year ago, a devastating 9.0 earthquake hit Japan, triggering a tsunami that surged the North Eastern coast and decimated entire towns. Thanks to our supporters, WSPA's team was on the ground within days of the disaster to help hundreds of animals in need.

Working with our local partner, the Japan Animal Welfare Society (JAWS), as part of the larger Animal Disaster Response Team (ADRT), we provided much-needed shelter and aid to more than 800 pets affected by the disaster.

Most farm animals in the U.S. are raised on factory farms, where they spend their entire lives in battery cages, crates or overcrowded sheds, and are fed hormones and antibiotics so that they grow faster and bigger than nature intended. They are often times neglected, abused and pushed to their physical limits to make cheaper meat or dairy products for us.
