Players Reaction To Argentina vs Iceland 1-1 | ft. Messi, Ronaldo, Aguero
The Vikings of Iceland couldn’t have asked for a better start to their World Cup as they were able to hold 2014 runner-ups Argentina to a 1-1 draw. The Saturday fixture saw the South Americans take the lead in the first half when Sergio Aguero was able to fire in a beauty created by Rojo to the back of the net.
However, in unexpected fashion, Iceland equalized soon with Alfred Finnbogason baffling everyone with his 23rd minute goal.
From there on, Argentina could find nothing that could work their way until a penalty was won by them in the 64th minute with Lionel Messi standing over it.
And yet, the super striker’s effort or lack thereof by missing the spot-kick may have been the biggest reason why the result stayed the way it did.
Needless to say, Twitter had choice words for Messi’s miss, and here are a few of them.
