- Mark Robinson: Physical chemistry, yes. But they were much better as friends than lovers. Honestly, I don't think Joey was suited to any of the girls on the show. People always say Phoebe, but she was more like his older sister. Plus, her chemistry with Mike was undeniable. If Joey was going to end up with someone, it should have been a woman strong enough to see past his playboy facade and willing to take him out of his comfort zone. Someone who would reject him at first, which would require him to chase her until he could finally prove he was serious about the relationship. She would also have to be much smarter than him, but not the type to think less of him for it.
